They all take different vacuum cleaner bags no matter which model you have. They range in sizes and shapes. Hoover, Bissel, Eureka, Dirt Devil, Infinity, Oreck, Panasonic, Kenmore, Miele, and Electrolux vacuum cleaners all take different vacuum bags and then there is a difference in sizes within the series that each brand makes.

For the sake of this post I have decided to simulate us going to Wal Mart to purchase vacuum cleaner bags. Why that store? They do happen to be in every city in this country so why not start there. You bag is clogged so you go to the store to get a new one.

Now I did some research and that particular store carries mostly Arm and Hammer Vacuum Cleaner Bags. Why did Wal Mart pick Arm and Hammer I do not know. But that is 90% of the selection you will find at that particular chain.

Now Arm and Hammer seem to be promoting “odor eliminating” vacuum bags. That is their pitch that they are trying to sell. They say that their bags eliminate odors caused by mold, bacteria, and fungi. Also their product is “allergist recommended”. Are these so called sophisticated vacuum cleaner bags all they claim to be I do not know but according to Arm and Hammer’s packaging these bags are supposed to “trap dust” way better than their competitors.

Now just so that you know there are three bags that come in a pack. Not a bad deal. When comparing price you should pay attention to how many vacuum cleaner bags come in a pack. A lot of the times its just one.

Another note to mention is that Hoover makes a vacuum bag called the Q Hepa Media. Its self sealing and traps 99.97% of the dust with no mess or dirt puffs. I figured that if someone owned a Hoover vacuum this would be of interest. There is also another post related to Oreck bags if you have one of those.

Anyway to make a long post short this is what you need to do in this particular instance when you need to find a replacement. Like I said in a previous post write down on a piece of paper the brand of your vacuum cleaner as well as the series. Take the vacuum cleaner bag out and take it with you. I know it will be dirty and be full with dust but if you want to save yourself a trip put it in your car just to be certain the sizes match up.

Now on the Arm and Hamer bags they have several “types.” These types are alphabets. Type A, type Z, type D, ect…

Do not pay attention to any of that. What you need to do is look on the lower left hand corner of the vacuum cleaner bag and it will tell you what particular vacuum it fits. Easy and simple. They will have tons of useless information on the packaging and I repeat all you have to do is look to the lower left hand corner and it will tell you exactly what it fits. For example if you have a Bissell Powerforce 3522 series look first for the bags that say “BISSELL”. Once you find them you will notice that there are three to four different sizes available. Then look for the one that says Powerforce 3522. You see it, go buy it, and you are done. Hope this helps.

If you want to keep your beautiful home clean you are going to have to vacuum often. And if you are a person who vacuums a lot then you already know before even reading this post that you are going to have to change out your vacuum cleaner bags quite often. Many people really do think that’s it’s a hassle to replace vacuum bags because they clog up or get get filled up to the maximum level frequently. But in reality if you plan in advance, there are a number of websites that make it possible for you to order all your vacuum cleaner bags you are going to need for an entire year at rates you cannot find at your local grocery stores. There really is not a good reason to run out of them and have to go to the store and look for a replacement. Simply buy several packs of vacuum bags from the many various websites that specialize in vacuum cleaners and you are good to go. Buying online will save you a lot of time. Plus, it keeps you from going store to store looking for the vacuum bags that fit your vacuum.

We try to give everyone who reads this blog a wide range of vacuum bags, therefore making finding what you need for your specific brand or model fast and easy. Finding the vacuum bags on any site is easy. You are going to need this information unless you own a Rainbow. Most websites that specialize in vacuum cleaners are going to have a “bags” section. All the really good ones will have a selection that covers most major brands of vacuum cleaners. They include Miele, Sebo, Bissell, DirtDevil, Electrolux, Eureka, Filter Queen, General Electric, Hoover, Kenmore, Kirby, Nutone Central, Oreck, Panasonic, Regina, Royal, Sharp, Shop-Vac, and Singer vacuum cleaner bags. All you have to do is click on the brand of your vacuum. They will usually have a vacuum bags icon after that you can click on. You will see several options available after that. Then you simply choose the right vacuum bag for your vacuum.

Like I stated before it is important to anticipate your vacuum needs in advance. Take the Costco approach. Buy your replacement bags in bulk quantities. There is no point in having to go back online and repurchase the same thing three months from now when you could have gotten all your needs taken care of for a year or more. They are really not that expensive. If you spend thirty dollars then you have spent a lot. When you do it this way then you will always be able to keep your carpets and floors clean and dirt/ dust free.

Vaccum Cleaner Bags

We have all been here before. Everyone has. Not just one person but everyone. You are vacuuming your living room and all of a sudden your vacuum cleaner is not picking up the dirt any longer. You go over the spot again. Nothing. You stop your vacuum cleaner. You take a look on the bottom. Everything is fine. What could it be??

You figure out that your bag is clogged.

Vacuum cleaner bags do not last forever. We would like to think that they do but that is not the case. They get clogged, go out, or just stop doing their job. And it can be very frustrating to change them out. There are several things to think about.

There is the model of your vacuum cleaner. The vacuum cleaner bags vary from brand to brand. No two particular styles have the same bags. A Hoover vacuum cleaner will have a totally different bag than a Kirby model.

Besides the brand there is the size to think about. There are many different sizes you can buy. The range can be quite significant.

I would highly recommend reading the instruction manual that your vacuum cleaner came with if you still have it. Many times it will tell you the exact replacement you have to get. The only problem, which actually is quite annoying, is that it will only give you the equivalent for that brand’s bags. That is not going to help you much if you have to go to Wal Mart or Fred Myers to pick up a generic vacuum cleaner bag. But it can give you the right size.

I would also recommend that you take the old vacuum cleaner bags with you to the store. I know that they will have a lot of dirt in them and be clogged but this will save you a wasted trip to the store. I have had to replace this item and when I get to the store I forget what size I needed and the style. Like I said before some are long some are short and it will be hard to remember exactly what it looked like.

This is just some of the information that I found useful. Let me know via comments or e-mail what you have found to be successful in dealing with vacuum cleaner bags. You might have some suggestions or insight that we can all use. I will try to post as much as I can. I actually got the idea for this website because this recently happened to me today. I was vacuuming my bedroom when I realized that my bag had reached it limit and needed to be replaced. I went to the store and forgot what size I needed. The clerk, of course, was unable to help me. I had to go all the way home and get the correct size. I then went back and they did not carry the size I needed. I had to go to several stores to get the correct vacuum cleaner bags. What a pain! So this topic may not be the most juiciest or most exciting topic that one can think of but its helpful when you need it.

Hopefully this information helped out. Again let me know what you think and do not be affraid to write me any comments
