I actually have an old school vacuum cleaner. Its an Oreck XL. I guess Xl stands for Extended Life. Its Model XL2600HH. I have had it forever. It still runs great. It does emit a lot of dust, I can’t lie, but it works great.
One of my kids were vacuuming the other day with it doing chores and they came to me and said that the bag needed to be changed. I went an took a look at it and Byran was right, the bag was full and needed to changed. You know vacuum cleaner bags need to be changed when the vacuum cleaner is running over trash and dirt and not picking it up. Anyway, I opened up the vacuum cleaner and found that these types take a green Oreck CELOC Hypo-Allergenic Filter System Bag with Saniseal. It says on the bag that it has an “automatic closing dust seal.” These bags are actually quite long.
When you take the bag off watch out as dust will come flying all over the place. They are supposed to be hypo allergenic but I was sneezing for several minutes after I removed it. Its reasons like this that I am a fan of the Rainbow. Anyway, after you remove the bag I would recommend going to the nearest store. These sorts of bags are not hard to replace at all. I went to Wal Mart and got the same bag. It was not green though. They do change colors over time so please do not be fooled by that. A lot of people will get thrown out course because they went to the store looking for one color and when they did not find it they automatically assumed that that particular store did not carry it. In reality that store most likely did. Bags do not stay the same color forever. One year a company will make them one color and another year they will be a different color. Why do they do this I have no idea but do not let the color of the replacement vacuum cleaner bags throw you off course.
